RED LINE Action

...drawing a line for the climate

Background

Red Line Action was inspired by the 1,000’s of demonstrators who sang and danced through Paris during groundbreaking climate talks in 2015. They held huge red ribbons over their heads, calling for world leaders to draw a Red Line to stop behaviours destroying our climate; by keeping the majority of fossil fuels in the ground and accelerating a fair transition towards 100% renewable energy within our children’s lifetime.

Climate change is the biggest challenge we face as a society and it affects us all. The immediate local dangers of air pollution are inextricably linked to our dependence on fossil fuels, as are ocean plastics, deforestation, global warming, extreme weather, food shortages and increased risk of conflict. These are not distant events. They are happening now and are set to increase in intensity.

Through our collaborations with schools we engage, encourage and empower communities in dialogues. Visual art offers a powerful expressive medium, a chance to find a voice, to take action and communicate creatively about climate solutions.
