Heroes not Criminals (2018)

The Lancashire Red Rose was chosen for artwork supporting the first anti fracking protestors to be imprisoned in the UK.

In 2018, Blevins (a soil scientist from Sheffield), Roberts (a teacher from London), and Loizou (a piano restorer from Devon) climbed onto lorries outside Cuadrilla's fracking site at Preston New Road, in a peaceful protest that lasted almost 100 hours.

Clean Our Air (2018)

Pupils from four Southwark primary schools created a giant sculpture spelling "CLEAN OUR AIR." Headteacher Pia Longman of Peter Hills encourages social responsibility and empowering children to change things they care about.

Jemima Hartshorn of Mums for Lungs, a South London based campaign for clean air, says "Engaging children on the dangers of air pollution is crucial in raising awareness of London's illegally dirty air. We're campaigning to persuade Lambeth Council to create safe low pollution zones around schools during pick-up and drop-off. This scheme would also increase road safety." The petition can be found here: https://bit.ly/2LfebBW.

Pledges and Pounds for Puerto Rico (2018)

pledges

Puerto Rico was devastated by Hurricane Maria in September. Maria was the strongest hurricane to hit the island in over a century, demonstrating that climate change is making the weather more extreme. So, in solidarity to our friends there we are making pledges to change our behaviour. We are acknowledging that we all take responsibility for the hours of winds and torrential rain that battered the island.

Click here to see our pledges for Puerto Rico. Small actions make big changes.

Pouring the Line (2017)

pouring

Climate change affects everything including the things we take for granted like having a cup of tea. With increased droughts or flooding, the world will see less clean water for their kettles and less tea grown due to damages to crops and fertile land. This artwork, made with pupils at Christ Church Primary School SW9 and exhibited at The Lambeth Country Show, invites the wider community to engage in a dialogue around fossil fuel divestment.

Thank you Parlour Coffee House for hosting this years sculpture on your rooftop!

Sharing knowledge and exploring solutions (2017)

sharing

We encourage people to explore climate change and its impact; to digest and share information with their peers. Our fate does not rest on the shoulders of politicians alone. There is so much that can be done to protect our climate, by ordinary people like us. By taking ownership and feeling empowered we can all contribute to positive action.

When I went to school I performed a presentation in front of my class about climate change. It surprised me when my class knew so much.” (Lilly, 9 yrs)

Drawing the Line (2016)

Commuters along one of South London’s busiest rail links have a new piece of public art to contemplate, thanks to children from Christ Church Primary School SW9. Pupils constructed a giant hand holding a pencil, from which flows a flower laden Red Line. Each flower represents a voice calling attention to the destructive impact fossil fuels have on our climate. Thank you Helen Hayes MP (pictured right) for supporting our message.

For the Love of Books (2016)

The Climate Coalition ask people around the country to share the things they love on valentines day. Because the things we love might be changed forever by climate change.

A world powered by clean and secure energy is within our reach. The changes and investment needed to protect our world have already begun. For the love of books, we have the power to choose.

Banners and Protests (2015)

>

banners

World leaders from 197 countries met in Paris at a UN convention on climate change, known as COP 21. Their job was to draft an agreement on how to reduce the world’s dependence on fossil fuels, to keep global warming below 2 degrees or at best 1.5 degrees.

On the eve of this momentous occasion, we joined hundreds of thousands of people across the globe who took to the streets to show politicians that the world is paying attention.
